At Bath and Avon Vineyard we are passionate about serving those within Bath and the surrounding areas. BANES Council’s area assessment of family poverty confirmed that 13% of all dependent children under 20 years old live in poverty. Twerton West and Kingsmead rank within the 15% most deprived areas in England. Whiteway/ Southdown and Foxhill North/Combe Down rank within the 20% most deprived areas in England.
The early years of a child’s life are of fundamental importance. Giving every child the best start in life is crucial to reducing health inequalities across the life course, as well as reducing other social and economic inequalities throughout life (‘Fair Society, Healthy Lives (The Marmot Review)’, Marmot., 2010). We therefore felt that supporting families with children aged 0-5 within Bath was an important way of making a difference.
Our aim is to support children and families in Bath and North East Somerset by giving away clothes and equipment for 0-5s completely free of charge to anyone who needs it regardless of income, faith or background.
If you would like to donate or need new or good quality second hand children’s clothes and equipment (age 0-5) you are welcome to visit us.
We have several Nest boxes in prominent locations around the city. To find out where your nearest nest box location is click here.
The Nest Project hub is open on Fridays between 10:00- 14:00 in Brassmill Enterprise Centre, in Newbridge.
